spn_locationsAfter discovering the disruption caused to this comm by Photobucket terminating 3rd Party Hosting, I had a lot of thinking to do.
I did manage to download all the Season 1-7 Location Caps from one of my Photobucket accounts. Realizing they were mostly png files, I then converted them all to jpegs to save on file space. Then they were uploaded to SlickPic where the Location Caps for Seasons 8-11 already reside.
The other night I decided to try and begin replacing all the cap links for the first half of Season 1. It really didn't take too long and I deleted all the old links for Google Maps and Google Street Views since I haven't replaced those onto SlickPic yet. For now it's all I can do to to replace the caps. Anyway, I just finished doing the same thing to the last half of Season 1. So now Season 1 is back with all it's caps intact. I've also changed all the opening text to explain this situation and what I've done. It's not a perfect solution and I wish I could properly overhaul the Season 1 posts like they need, but there simply isn't time right now.
I'm sure you're wondering if I could get any help with this. Afraid not.
Since I'm the only one with access to the LJ posts and access to the links to the caps on SlickPic, it's a task only I can do. If I were to give the links over to someone else it would take as long as simply doing it all myself.
I'll see what I can do about restoring the Location Caps to the posts for Seasons 2-7, but of course, I'm still trying to get Season 12 capped and posts made, etc. before VanCon next month. It's going to be a very tight deadline as far behind as I am.
I ask for your patience this month as I try to get everything done. I know many of you are preparing for VanCon and for looking up locations while you're there and I don't want to let you down. Remember, I will also be looking for locations myself while I'm in town, so there's yet another reason to get all this work completed in time.
My goal at the moment is to hopefully have everything updated on this comm by the end of Friday, August 4th.
